A Day With My Gals

Yesterday was the first time I’d gotten out of the house with friends since summer started. We’ve only been on vacation for about two weeks, but it felt like forever since I’d seen my best chums.

After pushing it off for a while out of pure laziness, Natalie and I finally decided to go shopping at Savers. We brought along Brisa and Olivia, newfound best pals, and spent the whole time shopping, talking, and trying on outfits.

The three of us stood by racks figuring out what we could do to fix some of the contenders and collectively deciding that some things just weren’t going to work out. They picked cute summer outfits and I picked a few things that I could wear in New York. We grabbed our things and headed to the fitting rooms to try them on.

Skirts, tops, and corduroy pants flew around and some were switched or shared. By the end, I carried out a single loose-fitting blazer. It was the only thing that I had tried on that looked good on me, not to mention it was cute, comfy, and only $10.

I still have a long way to go in terms of preparing my wardrobe for the trip and I’ve been saving up babysitting money and other cash to be able to get some cute stuff. But I’ve got to really dig for some gems, and I plan on trying to go back alone to give myself more time to find pieces that I love.

[If you guys would be interested in me writing about the required attire for the program and the clothing I find to fit it, let me know in the comments below or on my Instagram page (also below)]

After all the altercations and checking of the price tags, we brought our stuff to check out and bought the finalists. Cute skirts and cuter tops were piled on our laps while Natalie’s dad took us to Starbucks. We threw them off and ordered our drinks, washing the metal smell off of our hands in the bathroom while waiting.

Starbucks in hand, we took off to Nat’s house and sat around, eating pasta and listening to music, stopping to scream about the Wallows and other stuff we’d needed to let out.

I made some good friends that day, ones I’ve been looking for for quite some time. It was the first of many great days with my gals, and we’ve already planned a couple more things to do that should be even better.

(Expect many a blog post about beach trips and mini golf dates to come your way!)

While I wait for those plans to come, expect a lot more theatre-filled things to come your way! I’ll write you all again on Monday to talk about Beauty and the Beast at the La Mirada Theatre! It’ll be the first show I’ve ever seen in the orchestra, so I’m super excited!!

Until then!

Hi guys! Thanks so much for reading my blog post! I’m so sorry for such a late post. I was originally going to write about my family’s beach day, but the weather got in the way. I assure you that the next planned post is a secure topic, and the posting time should stay solid at 5-7pm!

Lots of fun things are coming up, and I’m really excited to bring you along with me to experience and read about them!

As usual, like and comment if you please, I’d love to learn about you and your thoughts on my writing or my blog so far! If you have any thoughts on this post or have any suggestions for what you’d like to see from me in the future, please let me know! I’d love to hear from you all!

Thank you all so much, and I’ll be back on Monday to tell you all about Beauty and the Beast at La Mirada Theatre.

Until then!
