So uh…hello there.

We all know we haven’t posted in a while and yes, yes, I should be ashamed. But! I have very good explanations, all of which are conveniently listed below.

Extremely Valid Excuse #1:

The show is opening in a few weeks and omg! I’m so far from ready!!

Okay not really, but that’s what it feels like. I’m off script and, prior to the inevitable last-minute changes made by the director, my blocking is pretty spot on. It’s just that today’s rehearsal wasn’t too hot for me and it’s got me a tad bit worried (there weren’t any accidents or exciting screw-ups, just bad acting on my part).

The show opens on November 8th and our run ends on November 16th so tensions are pretty high, but excitement is replacing my fear and I’m getting more and more pumped as the days drag on. If I can just sing a couple lines of “Defying Gravity” without screwing it up and clank some swords without impaling anybody, I think I’ll be okay.

Slightly Less So But Still Valid Excuse #2:

School is um…let’s just say that she’s getting a little stressful as junior year drags on.

I’m passing all of my classes and doing so much better than last year (thank the universe). Still, with the add on of rehearsals (which haven’t gone past 4, yet), improving hosting, and juggling what is now 3 AP/Honors classes’ worth of homework, things haven’t as easy breezy as I’d like them to be. Though, when have things ever been easy breezy?

Still, extracurricular activities are ever-conflicting with my additional creative (and otherwise) outlets like fiction writing and blog posts. But, I’ve found a new rhythm and I’m hoping to keep it. Not to mention, I’m on the search for a job right now because college is going to be extremely expensive. Which reminds me, I need to hop back on the applying-for-scholarships train.

 

Important To My Well-Being, Therefore Valid Excuse #3:

I’ve been spending a lot more time with friends, and I’ve thoroughly enjoyed every second of it.

 

 

Because of my busy schedule, it’s been hard to find time to spend with my favorite people outside of the drama room, so I cleared this little bit of it and made more room. I’ve been spending lunches with my favorite hooligans, going on Panera dates with the best goofs on the face of the planet, and heading to the library with my best buds. (I’m surprised I came up with so many terms for my friends. I’m proud.) Every spare second I’ve got, I spend with my friends, and I’m glad that I do. I love you guys <3.

I’ve created some pretty great memories over the past couple weeks and worked really hard to become the person I want to be and create the life that I want for myself. That may seem a little dramatic, but I’m trying to take as many risks and big moves while I have the safety net of high school.

As per usual, I’m trying my best to include the blog in that transition and I always will. It’s just gonna be a little bumpy sometimes. Most of the time. But I will get better, I promise!

I missed you guys a lot and you’ll be seeing a lot more of me now. I hope you stick around for it.

Hi guys! Thanks so much for reading my blog post!

I’m so sorry for taking that unplanned break and leaving the site unattended for quite some time, But I’m happy to let you know that I’ve figure out a day that works for me to post: Tuesday! I usually have some catch-all time on Tuesdays so I’ll try my best to write a little something for you and have it up by 7! Sometimes it’ll get a lil’ tricky and go up later, but a post will always go up on Tuesday unless I say otherwise and on the occasional Show Tune Sunday.
